Fire destroys 80 houses in Laguna


LAGUNA: At least 80 homes were destroyed when a fire hit a residential area in San Pedro City, Laguna on Tuesday. Rina Benedictor of the Bureau of Fire Protection auxillary station in Pacita Complex said an unattended gas stove triggered the fire that started at 5:45 p.m.  and lasted around four hours in Sitio Maharlika 2 in Barangay San Antonio.  No one was reported hurt in the incident while the 120 affected families are currently sheltered at a nearby basketball court.
