• Fire, explosion gut down 2-storey commercial building in Zamboanga City


    AN estimated P3-million of property were damaged after firecrackers and pyrotechnic products exploded in a stall and triggered a fire in a commercial center in Zamboanga City.  Authorities reported that the explosion happened at about 9 p.m. on Friday in one of the stalls in a two-storey commercial building owned by a certain Joseph Bangayan in Barangay Guiwan. After the explosion, a fire started and immediately spread to adjacent stalls inside the center.  The fire gutted down a stall that sell feeds, bakeshop, a motorcycle display center, massage parlor, roasted chicken outlet and also destroyed several vehicles parked in front of the building. The fire also damaged nearby establishments including a bank. No casualty was reported because of the incident, however, authorities said that a certain Raul Resada, 21, was injured because of the explosion.
