At least 250 houses made of light materials and 20 classrooms were destroyed by a fire, which hit residential area near a school in Pasay City on Wednesday afternoon. According to initial reports of the Pasay fire marshal chief Insp. Douglas Guiyab the fire started at 1:14 p.m. in Barangay 157, 162 and 163 Zone 16 in Apelo Cruz Street, Malibay Pasay City. Guiyab disclosed the fire started at the house of one Nimfa Renol and the fire immediately spread and affected several houses and the school building because of strong winds. The alarm was raised to Task Force Bravo at 2:23 p.m. as it quickly spread to the shanties, he said.
