FIRE broke out at the nurses’ quarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) Medical Center (formerly AFP on V. Luna Road) in Quezon City (Metro Manila) on Wednesday night.
No one was reported injured.
According to Maj. Francis Herrera, hospital spokesman, the fire started around 7 p.m. at the nurses’ quarters located on the 2nd floor.
Herrera said no patients were evacuated because the quarters were far from the building where they are confined.
According to him, at least 43 fire trucks responded and put the fire under control before 8 p.m.
Authorities believed the blaze was caused by faulty electrical wiring.
Herrera said the nurses were temporarily relocated to the hospital’s training hall.
