Fires result in P16.34M damages in Bohol


TAGBILARAN CITY: From January to July of 2015, damage to property caused by fire reached P16.34 million, most of them caused by electrical appliances, unattended lighted candles, matchsticks and bonfires, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). In its midyear report, BFP said 2015 saw 34 more fire incidents with a total of 122 cases compared to the 88 recorded in 2014. Most of these fire cases were accidental at 105 cases, while the fire department in Bohol saw two arson cases involving intentional burning of property.
