Firetrucks, paramedics deployed at firecracker stalls in Bocaue


CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, MALOLOS CITY: The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office deployed firefighters with fire trucks and ambulances with paramedics in Bgy. Turo in Bucaue, Bulacan where rows of fireworks stalls are on a 24/7 as sales of fireworks and pyrotechnics devices began to surge on Tuesday. Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado Alvarado instructed the Bulacan police to remain vigilant and continue to intensify their crackdown against prohibited firecrackers specially the killer type products to ensure the peaceful celebration of the New Year. Bulacan Police Provincial Office provincial director Senior Supt. Ferdinand Divina also advised the public to buy only safe and labelled products and not the banned firecrackers to avoid accident in celebration of the New Year. Police in the towns of Sta. Maria, Marilao, Balagtas, Guiguinto, Baliwag and San Rafael also conducted inspections where assorted prohibited firecrackers such as “Hello Philippines-Goodbye Columbia”, giant Pla-Pla and dynamite were confiscated and some illegal manufacturers were arrested in Marilao town.
