The Bureau of Internal Revenue has filed criminal complaints against an electrical corporation, an interior design company and a shoe company in Marikina City for tax evasion. First to be charged was A. C. Electrical Corp., along with its chairman, Amador Cruz, for tax liability for year 2007 amounting to P6.97 million, inclusive of surcharges and interests, broken down into: Income Tax – P4.10 million; and Value Added Tax – P2.87 million. Also, design firm – A.R. Reynoso Arch Inter-Design Corp., with its president, Archimedes R. Reynoso – was held liable to pay an aggregate income liability totalling P24.88 million, inclusive of surcharges and interests, broken down into: 2010 – P3.84 million; 2011 – P12.36 million; and 2012 – P8.68 million. A shoe company – Errizaro Shoe Corporation and its president, Efren Rizalito. Lazaro, and treasurer Edna Lazaro – are liable for non-payment of VAT for taxable year 2007 amounting to P6.78 million, inclusive of surcharge and interest.
