S8 Exhibition Inc., a grouping of some of the biggest travel agencies in the country, will hold a high level travel and tourism business-to-business (B2B) event in the country from May 26 to 28 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Dubbed as the “1st Asia Premium Travel Mart”, the event will bring together the country’s leading hotels, resorts, and travel destinations together with 100 international buyers from Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East.
“The country’s tourism industry has grown by leaps and bounds over the last five years. The Philippines now has the capacity to serve the high end market that is looking to go beyond the standard hotel accommodations and tour packages,” said Fe Abling Yu, S8 Exhibition Inc president.
Yu said the B2B event would position the Philippines as a luxury destination that offers world-class amenities to the most discerning tourists from different parts of the world.
She said they expect to attract international buyers such as luxury travel retail counselors, incentive travel managers, travel planners, corporate travel professionals, and wholesalers specializing in luxury and experiential tours.
“We want local tourism companies to be introduced to potential international partners through exchange of ideas, experiences, and then eventually establishing between themselves a strong level of cooperation,” she said.
Yu said the timing is right in bringing into the Philippines the big spenders with tourism in the upswing and per capita spending of tourists rising since 2013.
She said that they have been very rigid in the selection process for both buyers and sellers that will participate in the event to ensure that only the best tourism products and services providers in the country will be available.
“Since we are offering luxury Philippine brands, we only want them to be partnered internationally with those that service clients that are after luxury or premium services,” Yu said.
The B2B event is being supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Tourism Promotions Board (TPB). Voltaire Palaña
