MALACAÑANG on Friday announced that two Filipino fishermen had been rescued near the disputed Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal by the Chinese Coast Guard and transferred to a Philippine vessel.

“The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) coordinated with the Chinese Coast Guard to help in the search operations. Last night the PCG received information that our fishermen had been rescued and the Chinese Coast Guard successfully transferred the two Filipino fishermen to the BRP Tubbataha this afternoon,” the Palace said in a statement.
