FIVE people in the act of using methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were arrested by combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) during a buy-bust operation on August 1 in Maguindanao. PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Abdulatip Abas Saidol, 39, of Barangay Kiladan, Matalam, North Cotabato; Tata Sapal Lidasan, 24, Abdul Talib Kudarat, 28, and Yasser Pandita Pagagao, 32, of Barangay Balut, Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao; and Nash Nor Jamiril, 20, of Mangga, Manday, Cotabato City. Operatives of PDEA-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz, in collaboration with a team from Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station, conducted an entrapment operation against targeted drug personalities identified as Ungga Gomez alias Ungs, Zacarias Palaguyan and Maymay Pagulayan in Gomez’s house in Barangay Crossing Simuay, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao. However, the suspects managed escape. Saidol, Lidasan, Kudarat, Pagagao and Jamiril were in the house of Gomez having a shabu session when the buy-bust operation took place. Seized were seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu, five lighters, two all-weather tooters and the P200 marked bill.
