Five dead in as two buses collided head-on in Camarines Sur


AT least five people were reportedly killed and several others were injured on early dawn on Saturday in a collision between a passenger and a tour bus in a remote village in Camarines Sur province, police reports said.

Initial reports reaching the Philippine National Police national operations center in Camp Crame said that the bus collision occurred at about 3 a.m. on Saturday along the Andaya Highway in Barangay Cumadaycacay, Galleo town, Camarines Sur.

In a report, Bicol Regional Police office identified the fatalities in the incident as Flordeliza Bronoso, 40; Paulo Bronoso, 12; Aracelo Manaog; Jane Tugade and Ramoncito Cajucom, 42.

The victims, the report said, were all passengers of a Raymund Bus Lines heading to Manila. The reports said the fatalities were killed almost on the spot as the passenger bus collided with the JMC passenger bus.

Meanwhile, the injured passengers were rushed in nearby hospitals for treatment.

Elements of the Gallego Municipal Police Station are now conducting follow up  investigation to determine who should be held liable for  the incident. ANTHONY VARGAS
