BAGUIO CITY: Five policemen from Bontoc town in Mountain Province are under investigation for the death of a 19-year old college student several hours after he was “picked up” early dawn on November 4. The National Bureau of Investigation in Cordillera on Monday summoned the policemen in connection to the mysterious death, which enraged Bontoc students who suspected foul play. Stephen Galidan, a sophomore at the Mountain Province Polytechnic College, died while being treated at the hospital some 10 hours after he was taken by the policemen for reportedly creating trouble. Police reports showed that Galidan, who was drunk, jumped off from the patrol vehicle while being brought to the Bontoc Police Station. He landed on the pavement and was brought to the Bontoc General Hospital and died the next day.
