AGOO, La Union: Five fisherfolks were arrested on Tuesday after agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 1 and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Agoo enforced a search warrant on at least five houses here. Regional PDEA Director Adrian Alvariño said the fishermen were selling shabu in their area as an alternative to catching fishes. He added that the place was a “one-stop-shop of illegal drugs.” Alvariño said those arrested include a mother and son tandem, he identified as Marissa Quero, 51, and her son John Prince, 25. Also arrested were Felix Quero Jr., 35; Feliciano Arcenio ‘Kadong’ Ramos Jr.; and Salvador Ramos. Seized from the suspects were more than 25 plastic sachets allegedly containing shabu, 1 improvised shotgun, 3 live shotgun ammunitions and several other drug-related items. The results of the raids will be submitted to Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Romeo Atillo Jr., who issued the warrants.
