FIVE soldiers were wounded in a clash between government troops and a group pf New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in a remote village in Surigao del Sur province early Wednesday.

Reports reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday national operations center in Camp Crame identified the wounded soldiers as Corporal Saham Baginda; PFC’s Wilmer Martinez, Louie Baldivino, Renan Villarino and a certain Tagbe, all members of the Army’s 36th Infantry Battalion.
