Flights at Clark limited to daytime operations

Flights at the Clark International Airport (CRK) have been limited to daytime operations after the airport’s navigational guidance system was damaged by lightning since Monday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said on Wednesday. As a result, four commercial flights were affected and were diverted or rescheduled on Tuesday evening, the CAAP said in a report. Flights of Tiger Air from Singapore and SeAir were diverted to Ninoy Aquino International Airport, while flights of Cebu Pacific and Asiana Airlines from Seoul, South Korea were retimed and later landed at Clark on Wednesday morning. Clark’s Doppler Very High Frequency Omni-Range is a navigational aid system helps pilots locate and land on the runway during bad weather and low visibility.
