The decorated pagoda carrying a replica of a holy black cross is surrounded by small boats during the annual Bocaue River Festival on Sunday. The black cross is said to have been found in the Wawa River in 1850. Memories are still fresh from the tragic 1993 celebration during which an overloaded pagoda sank, killing 266 people.
