Team Lakay standout Eduard “Landslide” Foloyang will pit his mixed martial arts (MMA) prowess against Adrian ‘The Hunter’ Pang of Australia in the ONE: Heroes of the World on August 13 at the Cotai Arena in Macau.

“My best strength is my heart. I know that he’s a strong fighter but I have the heart to go there and face a strong fighter. Not a lot of people can do that. That’s what I’ve been known for. I’ll go there with a good heart and good preparation for my opponent,” the 31-year old Foloyang told The Manila Times.

The Baguio City native said his past experiences will be an advantage, “I can kick, I can punch. That’s what he’ll be afraid of,” added Foloyang, who was the 2011 Southeast Asian Games wushu gold medalist.

“I’m excited to fight in Macau because I already fought there in 2002 for the world Wushu Championship. It was a different game and there’s a lot of adjustment now but I’m excited because I’ll represent my country again but in a different sport,” he said.

Foloyang is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Tetsuya Yamada of Japan. His win-loss record improves to 15-5 with the win.

Meanwhile, Pang beat Malaysian Peter Davis with a flurry of punches in 48 seconds of round 1 in October 2015. Pang holds a 22-8-2 professional MMA record.

Foloyang is eager to score a second-straight win in the lightweight class because it will give him a chance to fight ONE lightweight champion Shinya Aoki.

“I believe that beating him will be a good chance for me to get a title shot. I’ve seen some of his fights and he really wants to finish his fights. It will be a tough battle for me but I’m prepared,” said Foloyang.

Three more Filipino fighters will be seeing action in the tourney namely Folayang’s teammates Honorio “The Rock” Banario, Joshua Pacio and Jimmy Yabo.

Former ONE featherweight world champion, Banario will fight Eddi Ng of Hong Kong while Pacio will take on Thai national wrestling champion Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai.

Yabo, on the other hand, will face Chinese prospect Ma Jia Wen.

In the main event, former ONE flyweight world champion Adriano Moraes will face elite wrestler Andrew Leone for the Interim ONE Flyweight World Championship.

The ONE: Heroes of the World is the inaugural event of the Singaporean-based MMA promotion in Macau.
