MIXED Martial Artist Eduard “The Landslide” Folayang will be battling Vincent Latoel in a lightweight contest in the One Fighting Championship dubbed as “Moment of Truth” slated on December 6 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Folayang vowed to bounce back from his unanimous loss to Kamal Shalorus in One FC Rise to Power card last May
“I’m very much confident right now that I can bounce back but I’m very cautious against my opponent,” said the former wushu sanshou national athlete Folayang, who holds a 12-4 win-loss record. “My last fight was a learning experience.”
Besides new wrestling techniques, Folayang said that he already studied the style of his Dutch-Indonesian opponent who is also known as a ground fighter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert.
“This fight is very important to me that’s why I need to be more aggressive,” said Folayang. “During my last fight I felt so heavy and could not move that much, but now I’m very comfortable moving without losing my speed. I learned a lot from our Iranian wrestling coach.”
Folayang and Team Lakay members Honorio Banario, Kevin Belingon, Geje Eustaquio and female fight Jueath Nagaowa will dedicate their fight to the victims of super typhoon Yolanda in Visayas.
Folayang’s foe Latoel will also offer assistance to the victims of super typhoon Yolanda.
”My team and I have seen photos and videos of the damage in the Philippines. I can’t imagine what the victims are going through and we want to do whatever we can to help,” said Latoel.
Also seeing action are Leandro Issa and Koetsu Okazaki, and Korean Dae Hwan Kim opposite Vietnamese Thanh Vu.
