Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4×2 promises great value for its price.

FORD Phils. has expanded the choices available for the Ford Ranger by adding three new Wildtrak variants to the pickup lineup.

“The Ranger continues to be one of our top-selling nameplates and we are very excited to offer customers even more options to meet their needs,” said Ford Phils. Managing Director Kay Hart.

The range-topping Wildtrak series now includes the 2.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4×2 in both automatic and manual transmissions, and a 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4×4 in manual transmission. Ford said the new variants will be available in June in all its dealerships.

The new Ranger Wildtrak 4×2 variants come with the Duratorq TDCi 2.2-liter engine that is matched to either a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. The engine makes 148hp and 375Nm of torque.

Ford said all the new variants are equipped with additional safety kit that used to be available only on the 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak, specifically side and curtain airbags. The side airbags deploy from the vehicle’s headliner to protect the head of outboard occupants in a side-impact crash while the curtain airbag protects both front and rear passengers. Other features are the three-point seatbelts, driver and passenger belt-minder, seatbelt pretensioners and Isofix child seat anchorage points.

The Wildtrak also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, a sport package that counts in a roof rail, sport bar, box rail, bed liner and special Wildtrak leather seats, steering wheel and door trim. Also included are exclusive Wildtrak badges and graphics.

The 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak MT is powered by the Duratorq TDCi 3.2-liter engine that produces 197hp and 470Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission, which Ford said should guarantee excellent fuel economy and class-leading power.

Like other Wildtrak variants, the 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak MT also has a rear-view camera, cooled center console, eight-way power-adjustable seats and a 12-volt power socket in the truck’s cargo bed.

All new Wildtrak variants are available in Chili Orange, Cool White or Black Mica colors.

“With the addition of these new variants, the Ranger continues to live up to our promise of delivering a truck with no compromise, with its class-leading power and safety, excellent fuel efficiency, smart technologies, and unmatched versatility and capability, exceeding the demands of our customers in the Philippines,” Hart said.

Prices are set at P1.219 million for the 2.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4×2 MT; P1.289 million for the 2.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4×2 AT; and P1.490 million for the 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4×4 MT.
