• Ford bares record retail sales in March


    Ford sold 1,877 units last month, its best-ever first quarter performance in the country, according to Ford Philippines Managing Director Kay Hart.

    She said the record retail performance was driven by strong demand for the Ranger, Fiesta and Ford’s leading SUV lineup.

    “Our momentum in the first quarter is being driven by our full lineup of global Ford vehicles that is allowing us to become a brand of choice for Filipinos,” Hart said.

    “We continue to make progress on our One Ford plan, and together with our dealer partners we remain firmly committed to providing the very best customer and ownership experience,” she said.

    The EcoSport urban SUV attracted a wide range of customers in March with sales of 763 units, its best monthly performance since it was launched one year ago. EcoSport sold 2,157 units from January to March, making it Ford’s best selling in the first quarter.

    “The EcoSport’s combination of sporty design, smart technologies and sensible value proposition have truly helped to create its own space in the market, and we are thankful for the tremendous response by our customers since launching this compact SUV a year ago,” Hart said.

    The class-defining Ford Ranger – the best-selling pickup truck in the Philippines in 2014 – continued its momentum in March with sales rising 41 percent year over year to 792 units.

    First quarter sales have risen 27 percent to 2,058 units, as demand continued across the full lineup of 13 variants available in the Philippines.

    The sporty Ford Fiesta contributed to the March performance with sales of 132 units. The Fiesta features Ford’s award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost engine, which delivers power and performance with improved fuel economy and reduced emissions levels.

    The premium mid-sized Explorer sold 80 units in March. It features a powerful 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine and smart technologies that include PowerFold third-row seats, Hands-Free Tailgate and inflatable rear seat belts.

    Escape, which sold 80 units, is offered in both 1.6L and 2.0L EcoBoost variants and the popular Everest added sales of 56 units to the March total.

    Ford will launch the all-new Everest on April 9 at the much-anticipated Manila International Auto Show.

    “We’re so excited to give Filipinos their first look at the new Everest,” said Hart. “This next-generation SUV is completely redesigned, both inside and out, and we are confident it will even exceed our customer’s already high expectations.”

    Ford remains on track with its plans to continue expanding its nationwide dealer network to a total of 40 locations this year, including the opening of Ford Malolos in Bulacan next month.
