Ford Philippines registered a 93-percent surge in sales last month, a record turnover for the carmaker.
Its April sales were an all-time high at 3,152 units year-on-year, the company noted in an emailed statement.
The best selling units were the Ranger pickup, Everest, EcoSport, and Explorer.
“Our full lineup of global Ford vehicles continues to be very well received by customers, helping our brand continue to gain momentum and even more appeal,” said Lance Mosley, Ford Philippines managing director.
“Whether it’s one of the 13 variants of the Ranger, or one of our segment-defining SUVs, we’re connecting with the diverse lifestyles and work requirements of Filipinos across the country,” he added.
Bulk of the April sales was traced to the 1,308 units of Everest. Year-to-date, Ford sold 4,838 units of the mid-sized SUV model.
For the EcoSport, Ford said sales were up 25 percent to 837 units. In January to April, the compact SUV sold 2,667 units.
The Ranger pickup truck also saw a record month, with sales up 13 percent to 786 units.
Sales of the Explorer SUV rose by 16 percent to 80 units, while the Ford Fiesta—featuring a 1.0L EcoBoost engine—recorded 81 units. The new Mustang sold 19 units.
Equipped with either a V8 5.0L or EcoBoost 2.3L engine, Ford said the Mustang comes with a more precise steering control and enhanced ride comfort.
Ford has expanded its SUV lineup with the EcoSport Black Edition and Everest Titanium 2.2L 4×2.
“We expect these new variants of the EcoSport and the Everest to give our overall sales another boost, and allow us to offer even more power of choice to Filipino customers,” Mosley said.
Ford plans inaugurate the Ford Marilao dealership in Bulacan later this month as a part of expansion plans across key locations in the country.
