• Ford PH says H1 sales at all-time high

FORD Philippines said on Tuesday its sales in June jumped 10 percent to 1,870 units from 1,697 units sold in the same month last year, bringing total sales in the first half to an all-time high of 10,427 units.

The company said sales in the first half were up 18 percent from the 8,864 units sold in the same period last year.

Ford said the exceptional month was led by continued demand for the EcoSport, Ranger and Explorer, while Ford is currently transitioning to the all-new Everest – one of its best-selling nameplates – which will be officially launched in September.

“We’re continuing to be a leading brand of choice for Filipino customers across the country, and it’s so exciting to see our global Ford vehicles, particularly Ranger and EcoSport, continue to build on their success by appealing to an even wider range of customers’ lives and lifestyles,” Ford Philippines managing director Kay Hart said in a statement.

Ranger continues to be Ford’s top-selling model in the Philippines. Its June sales rose 26 percent year-over-year to 755 units. Ranger has also remained the country’s best-selling pickup truck this year, with sales jumping 32 percent to 4,327 units. Ranger was the best-selling pickup in the Philippines in 2014.

The popular EcoSport delivered its best month since being launched in the Philippines last year with retail sales rising 59 percent year-over-year to 767 units. Year-to-date sales of the compact SUV now total 4,133 units, making EcoSport Ford’s second best-seller.

The premium Explorer SUV recorded sales that increased 24 percent year-over-year to 110 units. Blending stylish comfort and a suite of advanced safety technologies, the Explorer is equipped with either a 2.0L EcoBoost or 3.5L V6 engine to deliver power and performance.

The sporty Fiesta delivered sales of 117 units in June, with the high-performance 1.0L EcoBoost engine continuing to attract attention in the market. The 1.0L EcoBoost engine delivers the power and performance of a traditional 1.6L engine with fuel economy gains of up to 20 percent.

Ford’s award-winning engine was again accorded multiple awards at the recently held 2015 International Engine of the Year Awards in Germany.

The new Mustang achieved retail sales of 48 units during its second month of deliveries. The global appeal of this sixth-generation pony car continues to attract both current and new-to-Ford customers who are inspired by its unique combination of style, performance and affordability.

Ford continues its nationwide dealership expansion with the opening of Ford Sta. Rosa and Ford Ormoc in July, bringing the number of authorized dealers to 38 locations. Ford remains on track to open 40 dealerships by the end of the year.

“Our ongoing dealership expansion is helping to better serve our growing base of customer across the country, and ensure the very best customer and ownership experience with convenience, accessibility and world-class service,” said Hart.
