Ford Philippines said on Friday that it ended the month of September and the third quarter with record sales.
Based on its records, Ford Philippines bested its third-quarter sales with 3,330 units for July, August and September, or an increase of 46 percent.
On a monthly year-on-year comparison, Ford Philippines sold 1,231 units last month versus the 964 units in September 2012.
Further, year-to-date sales reached 9,591 units, reflecting a 70-percent rise.
Ford Philippines Managing Director Kay Hart attributed the gain to the “healthy economy and strong consumer confidence,” which is “helping drive steady showroom traffic across the country.”
“This is helping introduce our Ford brand to even more customers, and response to our full lineup of segment-leading Ford vehicles has been exceptional and is helping drive record sales,” Hart said.
Leading the strong sales was the all-new Ford Ranger with September sales of 438 units, helping third-quarter sales surge 172 percent year-over-year to 1,209 units.
Besides that, Hart said that the company’s car lineup contributed to last month’s sales performance.
Selling on its first full month of availability, the new Ford Fiesta delivered 315 units.
“The new Fiesta offers exactly what our young and trendy customers are looking for today in a small car—expressive, fun, smart and with leading fuel economy,” said Hart.
“It’s off to a great start, and we’re confident new Fiesta will continue increasing in popularity and connecting with an even wider variety of customer lifestyles and personalities,” she added.
Meanwhile, the all-new Ford Focus also delivered 110 units in September alone, skyrocketing the company’s third-quarter sales by 167 percent year-over-year to 310 units.
As sales across its product lineup continue to grow, Ford remains committed to continually enhancing its customer and ownership experience.
Earlier, Ford topped the 2013 J.D. Power Asia Pacific Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study for the Philippines, helping to highlight its efforts to provide an unmatched customer experience across its expanding network of dealerships nationwide.
Among the 10 brands in the SSI study, Ford ranked highest overall, performing particularly well in five areas, including delivery process, delivery timing, paperwork, deal and dealer facility.
“We’re proud of our number one ranking in JD Power’s SSI survey, which helps to underscore the progress we are making to deliver an unmatched customer service and ownership experience,” Hart noted.
On related developments, Ford Philippines is planning to open a new dealership in Zamboanga by yearend, as part of its expansion program. In a span of 12 months, the company established dealerships in Cainta, Bohol, Butuan, General Santos, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, Makati, Manila Bay, Naga and Tarlac.
As soon as the Ford Zamboanga is opened, Ford Philippines will have 34 dealerships across the country.
