Ford Philippines last week announced an all-time record monthly performance in September with retail sales soaring 52 percent year-on-year to 3,065 units.
The record month also capped off the company’s best-ever quarterly performance in the Philippines with July to September sales rising 10 percent from a year ago to 6,254 units.
The record totals were driven by continued demand across the Ford lineup, including the recently launched all-new Everest and the new Ranger, EcoSport and Fiesta.
“This is truly an exciting time for Ford in the Philippines. The launch of the all-new Everest marked another milestone and has helped drive phenomenal growth for the month. Our progress is being driven by a successful product-led transformation combined with a continued focus on delivering the very best customer experience,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.
The all-new Everest led the charge in September, achieving an all-time record monthly total for any Ford nameplate in the Philippines with retail sales of 1,341 units.
Redefining the mid-sized SUV market, the all-new Everest features a bold design, advanced technology, stunning off-road and on-road capability, and a refined, premium interior for up to seven passengers.
“Initial customer response to the all-new Everest has been extraordinary and we expect continuing strong demand for this fantastic new vehicle to help drive our overall sales through the rest of the year,” Hart added.
The EcoSport continued its streak in September as one of Ford’s top-selling vehicles in the Philippines with retail sales of 560 units. This helped drive its best-ever quarterly performance with sales rising 26 percent from the same quarter last year to 2,197 units.
The class-defining Ranger delivered retail sales that rose 18 percent year-over-year to 902 units, as customer deliveries of the new Ranger kicked off in September. Year-to-date sales of the Ranger – the best-selling pick-up in the Philippines – have risen nearly 12 percent to 6,149 units.
“Our new Ranger epitomizes Ford’s proud truck heritage and global expertise, showcasing the very best in terms of being the toughest and most capable truck out there. It’s everything our customers have come to love about the Ranger, now made tougher, smarter and more than ready to take on the world,” Hart said.
The sporty Fiesta sold 163 units in September, contributing to quarterly sales of 482 units – its highest quarterly performance for the year. The Fiesta’s high-performance 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivers the power and performance of a naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter petrol engine, while delivering class-leading fuel economy and emissions levels.
Ford’s year-to-date sales rose 15 percent through the first three quarters to 16,681 units, putting the company on course for an all-time full-year sales performance.
Ford also recently celebrated the opening of Ford Palawan – its 39th dealership nationwide – fulfilling its promise and commitment to reach out to more customers in the Visayas region. The company plans to have 40 dealerships by the end of the year.
