A NUMBER OF foreign manufacturers making industrial equipment and machinery are expected to set up production plants in the Philippines as they have become attracted to the improved economic condition of the country, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said.
They will come from, it said, Japan, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and Taiwan.
As they move in, local manufacturers will also need to equip themselves with the latest machinery and solutions to face the competition.
The Manufacturing Technology World, an expo for the industrial sector, which is scheduled from August 18 to 20 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, SM Mall of Asia Complex, will display some of the latest technology.

In addition to exhibiting products, the three-day event will also include a seminar.
