Foreigners must respect ph border security — BI

Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Siegfred Mison said foreign nationals entering the country should take Philippine border security seriously after Ghana and Ethiopia nationals were denied entry for presenting fake visas and travelling documents. The BI recently denied admission to a certain Sofia Zeinu Ali at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 2, who said she was on a holiday in the country. Dana Krizia Mengote, an immigration officer, found that Ali’s document had numerous cuts and was blurry and she had a counterfeit Schenegen visa. Meanwhile, a Ghanaian national named Andersen Adua Abalem was intercepted by the immigration officer for having a fake V-1 sticker visa. A repre-sentative at the Canada Border Services Agency and the first secretary of the Canadian Embassy inspected Abalem’s travel documents and confirmed they were counterfeit.
