Lawyers and students of law at the Bulacan State University (BulSU) mourn the passing of former Court of Appeals (CA) Justice Jose dela Rama who died on Monday. He was 90.
Dela Rama was a prized trial lawyer who became a trial court judge and later as justice of the Court of Appeals.
Lawyer Julius Victor Degala, who studied at BulSU College of Law where Dela Rama was the college dean, said that even at old age Dela Rama was sharp in the field of legal jurisprudence.
Dela Rama is survived by his wife Dolores Ignacio, heir children Rebecca, Josefina, Cynthia, Jose Jr. and Ruth with his 12 grandchildren and great granddaughter.
He is the father of lawyer Jose “Peng” dela Rama Jr., governor of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Central Luzon chapter.
His body lies at the Mary the Queen Memorial Homes along the bypass road in Barangay Guyong, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
Interment will be on Sunday, May 15 at the family estate in the Garden of Peace in Barangay Bagumbayan, Bocaue.
