Former Negros mayor, 6 others face graft case

The Office of the Ombudsman has filed graft case against former Mayor Romel Yogore of Valladolid, Negros Occidental and six others in connection with the alleged illegal procurement of services for the repair of two mechanical grain dryers in 2009.

Also charged before the Sandiganbayan were then-Municipal Agricultural Officer Giovanni Robles who was chairperson of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC); Municipal Engineer and BAC vice chairman Joseph Alfonso Manayon; then-BAC members Daisy Galve and Merlene Magbanua; BAC Secretariat Ramonito Amazon and Romeo Tanalgo, who was representative of Franmar Agro-Industrial Sales.
