• Former PCGG chief faces graft raps

Graft charges were filed against former Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) Chairman Camilo Sabio for allegedly attempting to influence his brother, the late Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice Jose Sabio Jr., to help a litigant in a case pending before the appellate court. In a Joint Resolution made public on Wednesday, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales found probable cause to file a case before the Sandiganbayan against the former PCGG Chairman for two counts of violation of Section 3(a) of the Anti-Graft Law and violation of Article 243 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC).
