Foton Philippines welcomed the beginning of the school year with a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program by supporting the Department of Education’s ‘Brigada Eskwela 2016’ through the construction and repair of numerous classrooms in northern Luzon.
Foton’s CSR program, dubbed as Foton Total Care program, was held last June 4 and 6 at the Andres Mariano Elementary School in Valenzuela and the Pacondo Elementary School in Pamapanga.
Executives and employees of Foto of the automotive brand extended their helping hands for the improvement of their adopted institutions particularly the classrooms which were in bad need of repairs.
From the gutters and classroom walls to blackboards, tables and chairs, the Foton team worked hand in hand and facilitated the repair and repainting.
“To be given a chance to help the students of two schools is something that we are grateful for because through our team’s assistance, we were able to touch their lives, we were able to make their second home a better place,” said Foton Philippines VP for HRAD Mary Ann Zacarias.
For three consecutive years, Foton has been supporting spirit of volunteerism, unity and perseverance through Brigada Eskwela.
Meanwhile, Foton also held their Total Care Program, which is an internal program where the company provides the children of their employees with school supplies.
“It’s not merely helping out because we want to fulfill our corporate social responsibility. It’s sending out our participation because we want to and we value the Filipino children’s education,” Ms. Zacarias added.
