• Foundation helps church repairs, refurbishing

The Wong Chu King Foundation (WCKF) is helping in the repair of two churches in Cagayan and Cavite provinces.

The churches, which are among the oldest in the country, are the Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish church in Annafunan, Tuguegarao, Cagayan and the San Isidro Labrador Church in San Roque, Naic, Cavite. Both are getting a boost in the repairs of the ceiling and art painting.

Father Fredel Agatep, Sta. Rosa de Lima parish priest, earlier asked the WCKF for assistance in refurbishing the dilapidated church, which is turning 100 this year.

The work for the Sta. Rosa Church started in August 16 last year and will be completed and inaugurated on March 31, which is also the 25th founding anniversary of the WCKF.

Archbishop Sergio Lasam Utleg will preside the mass, which highlights the inauguration of the refurbished church. The clergy of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao will co-celebrate the mass with him.

The WCKF is also helping in the repair of the San Isidro Labrador Church, including the refurbishing of a work of art, in San Roque, Naic, Cavite. The repair works began in October last year and completed in December 2014.

The foundation provided donations to the church after parish priest Orlando Jimenez sought WCKF assistance. The actual construction of the San Isidro Labrador Church was started in 2006 and completed in 2012.
