FOUR suspected members of a break-away communist rebel hit-squad were arrested by combined police operatives in an operation on Wednesday in remote village in Iloilo province, reports said on Thursday.
Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong, CIDG director, quoting reports, identified the four arrested suspects as Rogelio Labordo, Jiger Labordo, Jessie Labordo and Richard Leal, all are resident of Lambunao, Iloilo.
The CIDG director said that the four were suspected members of the Alex Boncayao Brigade (ABB) and were engaged in robbery hold-up activities in Lambunao and nearby towns in Iloilo province.
Magalong said the suspects were arrested by combine elements of CIDG Western Visayas Office and Lambunao Municipal Police office on strength of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Danilo Galvez of Regional Trial Court, branch 24 of Iloilo City.
The CIDG director said that seized from the suspects when arrested where a cache of high-powered firearms consisting of four 12-gauge homemade shotgun; a caliber .45 Remington Pistol and various types of ammunitions.
The four are now detained are now detained at the Lambunao Municipal Police Station for investigation and proper disposition while charges for illegal possession of firearms are being readied against them. ANTHONY VARGAS
