Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet: The Police Regional Office of Cordillera scored anew in the campaign against loose firearms following the arrest of four men for illegal possession of firearms. From the submitted reports, it appeared that the Kalinga Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) arrested Almar Bangalen, Felomino Carag and Eduardo Vilda, all residents of Laya East, Tabuk City, Kalinga. The three are suspects in the shooting of Bernardo Mamba Tubban, a 51-year-old farmer, inside his residence located on Feb. 13. Recovered from their possession were a 12 gauge shotgun and a caliber .30 rifle. In Baguio City, the Police Station 9 personnel arrested Dennis Amparo Gumabay, 37, for threatening a minor with a gun at the Mulberry Alley in Munoz Drive, Baguio City. Seized from him was a caliber .9mm Glock 1. The Abra police also contributed to the campaign after recovering a caliber .45 Colt pistol, which was left behind a group of persons who were reported to have engaged in illegal fishing along a river. Complaints for violations to Republic Act 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were filed against the suspects.
