Four killed as cloud seeding plane crash in Nueva Ecija


FOUR peoplewere reportedly killed when a small plane used in cloud seeding operation crashed late Sunday afternoon in a remote village in Nueva Ecija, police reports said Monday.

Reports at the Philippine National Police national operations center in Camp Crame identified the victims as Philip Jubane pilot and passengers Christopher Evan Borja, Christopher Evan Borja, Melvin Simangan and Leilanie Naga– all aree employees of the Bureau of Soils and
Water Management.

The reports said a baron aircraft (RP C1974) crashed at about 2:45 pm sunday in Brgy.Villa Coloma, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya Sunday afternoon.

The reports said the aircraft took off from Cauyan airport in Isabela, province and crashed in Nueva Ecija a few minutes later, the reports said

The reports said the aircraft had been commissioned by SN Aboitiz
Power-Magat Inc., to conduct cloud seeding operation when it went down.

Police say that investigation are still underway to determine the cause of the crash, the reports said. ANTHONY VARGAS
