ZAMBOANGA CITY: Four people were killed and four others wounded in separate road accidents on Monday in Basilan province in the southern Philippines, police said. Police said a wayward transit mixer hit a group of civilians in Maluso town after one of its tires blew out. Four people were killed and three others, including truck driver Mohammad Badidi, who works for a construction company in Basilan. Those killed in the accident were identified by the police as Marisa Jakaria, Angelino Alejandro, Eddie Misamis and Ading Duterte. An army soldier, whose identity is still unknown, was also injured after a wayward truck ploughed through the wharf in Isabela City after losing its brakes.
