• Four-lane bridge opens in Legazpi

LEGAZPI CITY: Commuters are now heaving a sigh of relief with the recent opening of a P24-million newly reconstructed four-lane bridge in Barangay 15 (Ilawod) here. Called the Sagumayon Bridge, the former two-lane structure was earlier tagged by commuters and traffic authorities as a “traffic bottleneck” since it is situated near schools, bank, hospital and road junctions. It serves as a major link from the city’s business district to neighboring Daraga town, with the two being connected by seven-kilometer J. P. Rizal street, a major thoroughfare that was converted into a four-lane road from the old two-lane street.
