• FOUR MEN DIE IN THAI POLICE STATION FIRE

    BANGKOK: A fire at a Thai police station near Bangkok on Sunday killed four men who were being detained in the building, police said. The men, aged between 22 and 45, succumbed to smoke inhalation in the blaze, said Police Colonel Supakorn Piwon, commander of the police station in Sai Noi about 20 kilometres (12 miles) northwest of the capital. He said the fire was caused by an electrical fault, adding that the victims were all suspects being held in cells at the police station.
