MOTORISTS are advised to brace for heavy traffic this weekend as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) resumes its repair and re-blocking of four roads in the metropolis.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the repair work covers roads in the cities of Quezon and Caloocan.
In Quezon City, the roads to be repaired include: Araneta Avenue between Palanza Street and Bayani (northbound, first lane) and C.P. Garcia Avenue between Magiting Street and University Avenue (going to University Avenue, first lane from sidewalk)
In Caloocan City, the road work will be conducted in EDSA between G. De Jesus Street and Evangelista Street (northbound, fourth lane) and in Monumento Circle, lanes 2 and 6.
The road works will start at 10 p.m. of Friday until 5 a.m. of Monday.
The MMDA and DPWH had said the repair work is necessary to improve the present conditions of these roads but motorists have complained of the heavy traffic it entails.
