Samsung is considered the pioneer of the “phablet,” a device that combines the features and functions of a phone and tablet, through its Galaxy Note line of products.

On October 25, the Korean electronics giant finally launched its newest Galaxy Note 4 with an exclusive press conference at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza, followed by a public selling at the SM Mall of Asia, both in Pasay City.

Phablet aficionados excitedly welcomed the arrival of the most-advanced device in this category from Samsung. In turn, the company’s were confident that the Note 4 will greatly exceed its predecessor, the Note 3.

“Of course we’re expecting that Note 4 will do much better than Note 3 in terms of sales,” shared Adriene Rivera, product manager for Premium Smartphone Category at Samsung Philippines, during a media roundtable.

To prove her point, Rivera added that during the online and in-store pre-selling ahead of the launch, some 3,500 buyers had registered. These techies happily claimed their Note 4 on the big day at MOA, along with many other Filipinos who lined up for their very own unit.

Ushering change
According to Rivera, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is all about ushering change in people’s lives. She explained, “We are encouraging change, especially for people who are welcoming new things in their lives, like starting a family or a business. They’ll need a phone that they can rely on, [and]to be on-the-go with them.”

Of course, the Note 4 is made to be just that. To begin with, Rivera said that the device caters to both “lifestyle and productive” aspects.

For a colorful experience, the new Note now has a Super AMOLED QHD Screen set to astound users with clearer and richer videos. What makes it better is that the screen is increased to 5.7 inches to make viewing definitely bigger.

Note 4 also wants its users to capture memories the best possible way. That is why Samsung upgraded the device’s cameras to 16 megapixels (MP) at the back, and 3.7 MP at the front. Moreover, the rear camera has the Optical Image Stabilization system that reduces blur and is perfect for taking images and videos under low-light conditions, while the front camera has brighter lens and a wider angle.

For serious business, the best tool is the Note 4’s enhanced S-Pen, which gives superb touch and press sensitivity. The S-Pen also features the Photo Note and Smart Select for faster and better scribbling of notes.

Samsung also promises of an improved battery life when it comes to the Note 4. With Ultra Power Saving Mode, users need not worry about losing functionality for vital apps. It allows access to the phone’s basic functions, such as making calls and sending messages, while still optimizing battery life for as long as possible, even at 10 percent.

Finally, Rivera proudly pointed out the Notes 4’s stylish leather casing and metal framing, available in colors black, white, gold and pink. The beautiful exterior is backed by a powerful octacore processor inside. pping the list of techy, holiday gifts are the latest smartphones from different international brands.
