Lopez-led conglomerate First Philippine Holdings Corp. (FPH) has won the private bid for the 464,961-square meter (46.5 hectares) Philtown Industrial Park, in line
with the firm’s plan to expand its industrial business.
FPH said in a disclosure that the company was advised that it was selected as the outstanding bidder in the December 15, 2014 bidding for the ownership and improvement of the 46.5-hectare industrial park.
The land is formerly owned by Brilliante Realty Corp., while Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. was in charge of the improvements.
The new project is in line with the company’s goal of expansion of its industrial park portfolio in response to the strong demand for industrial spaces from Japanese firms relocating their units from China and Thailand to FPH’s industrial park in Sto. Tomas, Batangas which is nearly at full capacity.
The Philtown Industrial Park will be operated by FPH unit First Philippine Industrial Corp., which also handles the Sto. Tomas industrial park.
The Lopez-owned FPH, through its unit and affiliates, is primarily engaged in power generation (First Gen Corp. and Energy Development Corp.), manufacturing operations, and real estate development (Rockwell Land Corp).
