CAYENNE: France Saturday announced a billion euros ($1.07 billion) aid for strike-hit French Guiana, as representatives of the Guianese told visiting ministers the South American territory should be given “special status.”
The vast South American territory, which is administered as a region of France, has been in the grip of labor unrest for the past 10 days.
