Pinoy music icon Freddie Aguilar was a no-show on Monday’s preliminary investigation before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office over his qualified seduction case slapped against him by a lawyer.
Lawyer Fernando Perito who filed the case against Aguilar, 60, for publicly acknowledging his romantic relationship with a 16-year-old girl said that he has no intention of destroying the singer’s character but merely trying to impart in him that what he is engaged in is against the law.
Perito advised the legendary folksinger whom he considers his idol that if indeed Aguilar is truly in love with the teenager, he should just visit her in her house regularly and support her studies and get into a serious relationship when the lass reaches 18 years old.
After several minutes of waiting inside the office of Assistant City Prosecutor Edgardo Saplala, Perito said that he has supplemental evidence against the singer as he intends to file a child abuse case and temporary restraining order (TRO) that would prohibit him from temporarily seeing the girl.
Perito insisted that the filing of the case against Aguilar is nothing personal and despite filing the case, Perito said that he still has high regard for the music icon recalling the times when they were out on the streets protesting against the Marcos rule.
