The brainchild of 33-year-old French-Algerian chef Akrame Benallal, Atelier Vivanda is more than just a heaven for those who love steak and potatoes—it’s a masterful culinary performance that matches incredible attention to detail with brutishly hearty dishes.
To an excited and lively crowd of select guests, Benallal and his Philippine partners, Khristine Gabriel, Grace Lee, Rey Espinosa, and investors from Orbis Capital Ventures, Inc. (OCVI), officially opened the much-awaited bistro.
With jazzy French music by Moise filling the cool evening air, a diverse crowd of foodies and Francophiles—including His Excellency Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to the Philippines—gathered in Bonifacio Global City to be part of the opening of the most awaited French bistro in Manila.
Atelier Vivanda partner and event host Grace Lee started the night off with a short introduction of the space. She emphasized how every single detail of Atelier Vivanda was decided by Benallal himself, and how they were beyond excited to show the Filipinos Benallal’s reimagined take on French food.
Atelier Vivanda in Manila is the third global branch of the restaurant. During the launch, the Michelin-starred chef shared why he thought the Philippines has what it takes to be the next culinary mecca: “I think that developing countries like the Philippines have so much culture and are so open-minded to try new things.”
Benallal’s mission behind Atelier Vivanda is straightforward, just like his food—to serve simple yet sumptuous dishes that have been prepared with the utmost care.
Atelier Vivanda is located at U-A8 Forbes Town Center, Forbes Town Road, BGC Taguig City.
