PARIS: With work on the 2024 Olympics in Paris barely begun, French budgetary watchdogs on Friday (Saturday in Manila) warned there was a danger of a 500-million-euro ($616 million) cost overrun.

A report by government experts said the building projects could exceed forecasts by half a billion euros on a total planned budget of 6.8 billion euros.
