• Fresh investments to boost job opportunities in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga: The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is expecting a new employment record high in the next five years following the influx of fresh investments and completion of several tourism-related projects here, committing more than 80,000 employment opportunities.

The CDC marketing department said that with 193 signed contracts during the first semester of 2014, including completion of expansion and construction of huge hotels in Clark, a total of 81,545 workers are expected to gain employment once firms are fully operational.

Widus Casino and Resort general manager Alfred Reyes said that once the expansion project of Widus is completed, more than 300 workers will be added in their current workforce.

He said that various job openings are posted in their Facebook account and website www.widus.com where applicants can send their applications thru email careers@widus.com.

Reyes said that the new lobby of the hotel will be open in September which they expect to generate more foreign and local guests as Christmas season nears.

He also said that with the re-entry of Air Asia in Clark, tourist arrival is expected to grow even before Christmas time which may benefit the hotel and other tourism-related projects in and outside the Freeport Zone.

Foton Motor Phils., Inc. held a job fair on Wednesday at the Multi Purpose Hall of Clark Museum to complement the manpower needs of the manufacturing of vehicles.

Foton reportedly needed more than 100 workers for the firm’s assembly line.
