KIDAPAWAN CITY: Financial deficit grips the operations of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) in Kabacan, North Cotabato, stalling even the search for a substitute for the school head who resigned earlier amid protracted protests against him for alleged irregularities.
Christopher Cabilen, university officer-in-charge, yesterday said the search for a replacement of resigned Dr. Jesus Antonio Derije, USM president, could not take off because the selection committee lacks the required P1-million operational fund.
