Furla’s lucky ‘88’ bag

IN celebration of its 88th anniversary since it was established in Bologna, Italy, in 1927, Furla creates a limited edition iconic Piper bag collection featuring a metal insignia bearing “88.”

The number bears double meaning as it not only signifies Furla’s age, it also means a good luck symbol rooted in Asian tradition. In Chinese culture, number 8 symbolizes fortune therefore double 8 stands for double fortune.

Exclusive to Asia Pacific, Furla creates a Piper bag in vibrant purple, the color of royalty with all its prestige and elegance. In soft-brushed calfskin, the special bag comes with a large 88-shaped metal plaque and keychain, embossed with the words “Exclusively for 88th Anniversary.”

In the Philippines, Furla unveiled the limited edition bag in April at the Raffles Residences in Makati City. Also opened was the regional campaign that will reward loyal customers a luxury trip for two to Italy inclusive of two business class tickets from Hong Kong to Milan, three nights at the Four Seasons Hotel Milano and a gift voucher to shop the latest Furla styles at the Milan Duomo flagship store.

A total of 12 prizes will be given with three coming from each Asia Pacific region: Hong Kong, China and South East Asia. A total of nine minor prize winners will be chosen for the Asia Pacific region and stand to win Furla bags, small leather goods and accessories.

To qualify for the promo, one would just need to purchase the exclusive Furla 88 Piper bag, which retails, or have an accumulated purchase of the same value on regular-priced Furla items.

A dedicated website, 88.furla.com, is developed for customers to access the 88th anniversary collection and complete contest mechanics. The promo is valid until May 31and winners will be announced in the site on June 26.

In the Philippines, Furla is exclusively distributed by SSI Group, Inc. and is located at Rustan’s Makati, Greenbelt 5, BHS Central Square, Shangri-La Plaza Mall and Newport Mall. Visit www.ssilife.com.ph for more information.
