Future of fashion featured in ‘Sinulid’ exhibit

IT was a glimpse into the future of fashion as the graduating students of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s Fash-ion Design and Merchandising Program mounted their finale exhibit, “Sinulid: The Connotations of Design” at SM Aura Premiere.

All for fashion: (from left) Sinulid Exhibit Adviser Tracey Tabora, School of Design and the Arts Associate Dean Cynthia Funk, College of Saint Benilde President Brother Dennis Magbanua, SM’s SVP for Marketing Communications Group Millie Dizon, Dean Dottie Asela-Domingo, Fashion Design and Merchandising Chairperson Lulu Tan-Gan, Arts and Culture Associate Dean Sunita Mukhi and Program Coordinator Christine Benet

Presented via pop up stores and conceptual styling, each student was able to showcase their personal brand that reflects their own aesthetic and design philosophy.

The Women’s Wear, Men’s Wear and Children’s Wear collections took inspiration from travel, reincarnation, geo-metric patterns, indigenous materials and personal experiences, including moments from the designers’ child-hood.

Themes of sustainability and functionality were also utilized for streetwear, formal wear, swimwear, sleepwear and even plus-size fashion.
