Gabby: ‘I’m ready for KC to get married’

“He is a very nice boy.”

That’s what Gabby Concepcion said about Azkals player Aly Borromeo, daughter KC’s new boyfriend, following a good number of years of being unattached.

Gabby met Aly for the first time some weeks ago, and it was KC of course who introduced her boyfriend to dad.

“I was impressed with how Aly takes care of KC. What I can say is, I will not say no if ever they decide to settle down. They are both the right age so I don’t see any problem [with that],” the actor said of his first born and only child with ex-wife Sharon Cuneta.

“If they really love each other and they are both ready, I’m going to support them. I will welcome Aly as a son in-law.

When it comes to his personal life, Gabby says he can’t ask for more, perhaps just like KC. He is very content with his family life. He is married to Genevieve Gonzalez with whom he has two daughters Samantha and Savannah, and gets to spend quality time in between his tapings. They would usually hie off to Anilao, Batangas whenever Gabby’s schedule permits.

The ever dashing actor told Showbuzz that even their Christmas plans are laid out. “I’ll also get a Christmas break, meaning no tapings, so we will spend our Christmas and New Year in San Francisco. We’ll be there for just two weeks because I have to go back to work.”

Indeed, January of 2017 will be a very busy month for Gabby. His new soap, Ika-anim Na Utos, will start airing that month and will take him on promotions with co-stars Sunshine Dizon and Ryza Cenon.

He is very excited about the series because for the first time in his career, he gets to portray a pilot. Showbuzz, in fact, visited Gabby on his first taping day at NAIA’s tarmac. He had scenes inside the cockpit of a big passenger plane with Marco Alcaraz as his co-pilot.

After the take, Gabby approached Showbuzz with a huge smile on his face. Looking so good in his white uniform and aviator shades, he confessed, “This is a childhood dream come true! I’ve always wanted to be a pilot. In fact, even when I was already in showbiz, I had planned to enroll in a flying school. I was even willing to give up my acting career to be a pilot but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. So now, kahit man lang sa role, I get to have my dream fulfilled.”

Besides Ika-anim Na Utos, Gabby is also taping for the weekly fantasy-comedy series Tsuperhero topbilled by one of today’s heartthrobs Derrick Monasterio. “I’m so proud of this series. It got very good feedback from the viewers when it first aired last Sunday. Dito sa Tsuperhero, pulis naman ako na tumatayong parang second father ni Nonoy, played by Derrick. Parang nalilinya nga ako sa role na man in uniform, but I really enjoy it,” Gabby enthused.

With the success that Gabby is currently enjoying in his career, slowing down is the farthest thing from mind. He is just so happy with the way GMA Network is taking care of him, giving him big projects and very good roles. He, of course, returns the favor with hard work.

“I want to thank GMA. I really appreciate everything that they do for me. I couldn’t ask for more.”

In a conversation with Showbuzz, Kylie, shared how she felt when she made to the Top 15. “The feeling was very familiar. It was nerve-wracking because it was nervousness mixed with happiness and excitement. That was also how I felt when I got into the Top 15 of Bb. Pilipinas.

“Wala kasing Top 5 in Miss International unlike in Bb. In the Miss International—from the top 15, the runners-up and the winner are announced,” she continued. “So when the runners-up were being announced one by one, I was praying, ‘Lord, huwag pa, huwag pa.’ When It was time to announce the first runner-up, sabi ko, ‘Pwede na Lord, sige na.’ I heard Miss Australia called next so I figured it would either be Poland or Mexico who will get the title. I was already thinking of how to congratulate them like, ‘You’re so beautiful Magdalena;’ ‘You deserve it, Geraldine,’ when suddenly, I heard the hosts proclaiming, ‘Miss International, Philippines!’ I was like, ‘Aaah! Talaga? Talaga? Are you sure’?”

Today, Kylie will have her victory parade at the Araneta Center together with the other Bb. Pilipinas title-holders, and hopes to see many well-wishers there. She will have another motorcade on November 26 in Baguio where she comes from, where her proud city is preparing a grand welcome for their very own Miss International.

“I can’t wait to go home. I am so eager to be with my loved ones and my kababayan in Baguio,” she enthused.

Very much in the news, Showbuzz heard that a lot of guys are wondering if Miss International is still single. Kylie replied in the affirmative but added her priority is to fulfill the duties of her title. She believes that love will come at the right time.

Happily, Kylie will get to celebrate Christmas and New Year in the Philippines then off to Japan she goes where the Miss International Organization is based. Afterward she will fly to other countries for her charity work as part of her duties as an international queen of beauty.

It will be a happier Christmas for brother and sister Jac Roberto and Sanya Lopez. The year 2016 has proven to be a year of blessings for them both what with big projects they have on GMA. “We have so much to thank the Lord for,” Jac said. “It’s like an advance Christmas gift for me and Sanya. When the projects started coming, we knew our patience and hard work were beginning to bear fruit. We just wish that these blessings will continue and we promise to work harder.”

Until now, Sanya is still savoring the victory Encantadia is enjoying in the ratings. She is also very happy that many people have started taking notice of her since she started playing Danaya. “Pero hindi ko pa rin maiwasang ma-star struck with my co-stars especially now that Diana Zubiri, the original Danaya, has joined us in the cast. There was one confrontation scene that we did na parang nahiya akong sabihin yung line that goes like, ‘Nandito na ako, ako na ang bago.’ But Miss Diana is so gracious, sobrang bait niya,” she averred.

Sanya is currently being linked to her Encantadia partner Rocco Nacino. People who read their exchanges on Twitter believe there’s something going on between the two Kapuso stars.

Does Jac approve of whatever is going on between his sister and Rocco? “She’s old enough. She can decide by herself. I’m just here to guide her and to support her. Basta ako, laging nasa tabi niya bilang kuya niya.”
