Gang leaders, henchmen fall in raids

OPERATIVES of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested over the weekend three crime gang leaders and some of their henchmen in separate manhunt operations in Tondo, Manila; Santiago, Isabela; and San Fernando, La Union, a senior police official said on Monday.

CIDG Chief Victor Deona identified the arrested suspects as Richard Gabion and Alexander Bacani, who were arrested Friday by a CIDG manhunt team led by Chief Insp. Wilfredo Sy in Gagalangin, Tondo, Manila.

The two are members of the Bacani Robbery Hold-up Group that operates in Tondo, Manila.

Meanwhile in Santiago City, Isabela, CIDG operatives nabbed Dino Balajo, Richard Gali-Om and Nestor Panhon by virtue of a warrant of arrest for robbery.

Deona said that Panhon is the leader of the “Panhon Group” while Balajo and Gali-Om are members of the group engaged in a series of robberies in the 4th District of Isabela and nearby municipalities.

Another leader of a criminal gang who is wanted for murder was arrested in San Fernando City, La Union.

Members of the CIDG La Union served the warrant of arrest against Joel Ordinado, said to be the leader of the “Ordinado Criminal Group.”

Ordinado is listed as the Top Most Wanted Person in the Ilocos Region and was previously arrested by Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU-1) in Candelaria, Quezon for murder charges.
